The run loop
- 01
Read the room, then spend an Explore card to move, open, gather, or prepare.
- 02
When an encounter begins, switch attention to the Combat deck and its energy costs.
- 03
Use food deliberately: footage shows ingredients being roasted, then eaten to recover.
- 04
At a camp or fork, improve the part of the run that is actually failing—not whichever card looks flashiest.
Explore deck vs. Combat deck
| Deck | Primary job | Question to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Explore | Movement, route access, gathering and preparation | Will this choice make the next room safer or more valuable? |
| Combat | Damage, defense and encounter tempo | Can this hand survive a poor draw and still end the fight? |
A better first-run priority order
Choose reliable actions before narrow combinations. Preserve a way to recover. Learn what Rest costs before using it repeatedly. When the route presents a boss camp, judge the deck you have—not the build you planned at the start.
